BEWARE! Zombies are coming to Rugby Town
This Halloween there will be nowhere to run and nowhere to hide when the first Rugby Zombie Walk will shuffle their way from Lawrence Sheriff School to the Rugby Clock Tower via the Clock Tower Shopping Centre. The walk which starts at 3.00 pm on the 31st October is just for fun but is aiming to raise lots of money for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. With zombie walks a popular occurrence all over the world, this year it's time for all things sinister and scary to take to the streets of Rugby Town.
Participants can dress, walk and sound like a zombie until their hearts content. The family friendly event, which should take around half an hour to complete depending on your zombie walking skills, will cost just £2.00 per person or £6.50 for a family of 4 to enter and includes an after event party at Lloyds where children are allowed to stay until 9.00 pm. There is also a raffle with one of the prizes being a piece of artwork from Charlie Adlard from the Walking Dead graphic novel.
Zombiethon Organiser, Clare Plumbley said, “I really hope all the Zombies of Rugby will come out on the day to help support the Air Ambulance – an organisation very close to my heart after helping my father following a serious bike accident 11 years ago. We want this to be a fun event and hope as many people as possible will come along to support us”.
The event definitely puts the fun into fundraiser so if you see a mob of zombies running around Rugby Town Centre on Halloween, don’t be alarmed - they are just helping to keep the Air Ambulance in the sky!
